I was definitely gonna say you need to use an oil (which will help with shine), a setting lotion (which will help a let better with hold, will increase longevity of the style, and helps it dry) and you need to set them with some heat. I usually sit under my hooded dryer on low for about 45 mins to an hour. The heat is usually so low that I really don&#39;t worry about heat damage. Also, section your hair into small sections. The shorter your hair is, the more Afro-ish it may look though. But all in all, I wouldn&#39;t call your attempt a fail, just a comprise lol.
