PRODUCT REVIEW: 20 Ways I Use Coconut Oil

After cutting my locs, one of the things that has been most interesting is exploring a new world of products. Now that my hair is free, curl defining products and leave-in conditioners, a smarter, more focused "product junkie" has emerged. I'm not interested in trying every new product I see, but when I see something that I feel will work, I happily add it to my "must try" list.

One thing that has not changed is my hair and skin's love for coconut oil. My hair loves it more now that it is free to soak it in to each strand.

SUPERFOOD: Coconuts + Coconut Oil.

Coconut oil is not a fad. It really is a superfood.  Because of the chemical structure of coconut oil, it's benefits are amazing. It is a moisturizer, an anti fungal agent, an anti-inflammatory agent and one of the worlds most abundant sources of healthy fats.

As wonderful as it is, coconut oil seems to be a "love it or hate it" hair and skin product for most people. While I use it from head to toe, I always skip my face. It works well for me to remove make up, but I cannot use it as a regular facial cleanser as some do. For some reason, I break out each time.

I've listed below some of the ways I use (or have used) coconut oil personally below.

Trader Joe's has one of the more popular brands of Coconut oil.
