Monae is rebooting her label Wondaland and our first taste is from Jidenna, a Nigerian-American artist whose look lives up to the single title: "Classic Man". Sporting a pompadour and a suited to match, Jidenna's look is culturally classic.

"Classic Man" is full of Speakeasy vibes and party energy. The video was directed by Alan Ferguson (Solange's husband) who is not short on style himself, making this a perfect combination. The video is full of hair beauty: TWAs to full grown fros, locs and everything in between. We even get a nice dose of color with a short purple do. Janelle Monae pulled her hair up and rocked that red hat she's come to love lately. While the energy of the video is fun, it does bring us back to reality with a clear social message woven in between the party scenes. Everything we would expect from someone in Janelle's camp.
This the first single from a compilation album from artists on Wondaland including Deep Cotton, St. Beauty and Roman GianArthur who's featured here in "ClassicMan". Janelle Monae's first single from the project is "Yoga", which I'm definitely looking forward to hearing. Janelle has been showing her yoga love on social media as she practiced with her yoga teacher, a past Natural in Nashville feature Chelsea Jackson of Chelsea Loves Yoga.
