ROOTS & RHYTHM: Eric Roberson - "I'm Not Trying To Keep Score No More"

There's more snow on the ground, which means another mental getaway is in order.

Eric Roberson takes us to the beach this week with "I'm Not Trying To Keep Score No More" from The Box. And the video is like the Super Bowl of Soul.

Eric Robeson with the classic side part.

Filled with cameos from Avery Sunshine, Algebra Blessett, Carmen Rodgers and more, some of the best singers around came together to create a fun narrative as Eric sings sweetly about moving past the frustrations of relationships.

Avery Sunshine with the confidence for any style.

With so much soul, you know beautiful natural hair would not be far behind.  Much like musical talent, confidence is key in rocking certain styles, some of the classics included.  Carolyn Malachi and Avery Sunshine represent well for those that love a close cut.  We've heard many reasons why a woman felt she couldn't wear this style, but we there is one reason why one could: she's fab and she knows it.

Algebra Blessett with braids tucked away in a bun.
Braids feel just as classic as the afro at this point in our hair history, but wearing longer braids is not a style everyone loves.  The length, weight and install process can be too much for some, making the style physically undesirable.  But for those that do use them for protective benefits or styling ease usually go with "long hair don't care".

Are you making any changes for Spring?  Classic or not, let us know what you have planned!
