Toya's Hair Diary: To Weave or Not to Weave? That is the Question.

Me and my hair are going through.

It's almost officially wintertime and while I am happy about cute layered winter outfits and boys in skully caps, Timberlands, and hoodies, I am not excited about what will happen to my hair.  The thing is my hair is so thick and it takes very long to dry.  I was working late yesterday when I touched the back of my hair.  It was in a wash 'n go style and at 6:30 pm it was still wet in the back! I mean really wet. That's almost twelve hours!  So here's what I've come up with: maybe, just maybe, I should consider buying a curly ponytail weave.
This was my reaction when this thought came to my mind.
I'm not a huge fan of weaves, for myself that is.  To each his own.  But I'm also not a big fan of pneumonia, head colds and the like.  My logic behind getting a curly ponytail weave is that I can just wash my hair, pull it up, snap a weave on it and not worry about putting a lot of creamy product in it that is going to take too long to dry. I think my hair would do well with this protective style and who knows?  Maybe it would even grow a little faster. I have to admit that my impatience with my hair growth is a factor as well.

Now I know there are options such as twists, braids, sister locks and the like but let me ask an honest question: am I the only person that doesn't like to have to explain to a bunch of people at work what you've done to your hair sometimes?  I had no problems explaining my hair after The Big Chop but trying to explain how my hair is now twice as long as it was before the weekend is another thing.
I am completely open to suggestion for natural looking kinky curly hair weaves so if you'd like to suggest some, fire away!
